In January, our focus was on Empathy. Empathy is a vital skill for elementary students, as it fosters positive relationships, reduces bullying, and strengthens academic engagement by creating a safe, inclusive, and supportive classroom community. Developing empathy helps children understand diverse perspectives, manage their emotions, resolve conflicts effectively, and build resilience.
We are proud of the students pictured below for being outstanding leaders in empathy. Congratulations, Spartans! 💙
What a great surprise for our 5th graders! 🏒 A couple of players from the Bloomington Bison joined us for a fun game of hockey last week . Students (and Mr. Nordstrom) had a blast practicing their skills and learning from the pros!

We hope you had an awesome break and are feeling recharged. It’s time to sharpen those pencils—school resumes TOMORROW!
We will be using a remote learning day today - please look for information from your child’s teacher (elementary) and plan on logging into online instruction today. We will mirror a typical day in school with regards to the schedule for the day.
K–2 Winter Concert is TONIGHT!
Doors will open at 5:30 PM.
Students participating in the concert should report to their designated spot in the gym no later than 5:45 PM.

The Kindergarten & 5th grade classes meet once a week for Book Buddies. Sometimes the 5th graders read a few books to their buddy, sometimes they do fun activities, like this week!
