Last call to register for our Boys Basketball Youth Camp. If you have a boy entering grades 3-8 this coming school year, we would love to have them out for camp June 19-22nd. We can not guarantee a T-shirt for new sign ups but will do our best to have extras on hand.
If you have been thinking about joining the high school cross country team but you aren't sure what to expect. Please join us this Wednesday morning 6/7 at 8:00am at the high school to try it out. We will split into pace groups and go for an easy run, so don't be intimidated! If morning doesn't work for you we will also meet Monday 6/12 at 6:30pm. Congratulations to junior Keagan Uphoff on a fantastic track season! Keagan competed in the class 2A IHSA State Meet at Charleston today. Keagan ran 15.69 in the 110 meter high hurdles, placing 19th; he cleared 6' 0.75" in the high jump, which had him tied for 12th place; and he ran a 40.90 in the 300 meter intermediate hurdles, placing him 10th and missing finals by 0.01 second!
The OMS Summer Running Club will begin July 10. All runners are welcome! Contact Coach Castillo if you're interested in attending.

Congratulations to Trayson Miller for placing 5th in the 3A 8th Grade Shot Put at the IESA State Track Meet this past weekend in East Peoria.
What a way to end the 2023 OMS Track & Field season. Congratulations to all the Spartans who traveled to East Peoria to compete in the State competition on Friday and Saturday.
Girls 3A 8th Grade 4 x 100m (Annaston Piro, Ava Jenkins, Madyson Bridgeforth, Charlee Durham and Kinley Steinkamp) medaled, placing 7th. Trayson Miller also medaled in 3A 8th Grade Shot Put, placing 5th.
Boys 8th Grade 4 x 100m (Kaden Collins, Chase Meyer, Kaleb Jacobs, Kadyn Wilcox) placed 15th. Mira Kistner placed 17th in the 3A 7th Grade 800m. Clayton Grieder placed 20th in the 3A 8th Grade Shot Put.
Boys 8th Grade 4 x 400 (Chase Meyer, Kaleb Jacobs, Owen Berlin, Kadyn Wilcox and Trevor Alexander) placed 19th.
Olympia Spartans are 2A Regional Softball Champions with a 9 to 1 win today over Carlinville. The Spartans will play in the sectional at Quincy Norte Dame on Tuesday May 23rd at 6:30pm.
Congratulations to the OMS Track & Field athletes who competed at State today in East Peoria.
Annaston Piro (14-9.5), Clayton Grieder (136-3) and Lucy Prestegaard (27-9) all medaled (8th place) in 3A 7th Grade Long Jump and 8th Grade Discus respectively.
Kaden Collins finished 15th in the 3A 7th Grade 100m (12.62). Kadyn Wilcox finished 11th in the 3A 8th Grade 400m (56.44).Trayson Miller finished 21st in the 3A 8th Grade Discus (116-3).

That's a wrap for the Olympia girls track team. It didn't end how we were hoping but all 3 of these girls have so much to be proud of!

The OHS boys' track team traveled to Dunlap tonight to compete in the 2A Sectional meet. Congrats to Keagan Uphoff for qualifying for the IHSA State Meet next weekend at Eastern Illinois University in 3 events. Keagan finished 4th in the high jump (6' 1"), 2nd in the 110 meter high hurdles (15.63), and 2nd in the 300 meter hurdles (40.91). Other placers were Cooper Phillips, Wyatt Reinhart, Logan Demling, and Jacob Lawless taking 6th in the 3200 meter relay and Cohen Alexander taking 3rd in the 400 meter dash with an all-time best time of 52.74! Caden Clark had an all-time best in the 3200 at 10:49.65 and Nolen Yeary finished his season with an all-time best in the discus with a toss of 117' 10.5"! Congrats to all on a great season and good luck to Keagan next weekend at Charleston!
The Boys Basketball program will be hosting their annual youth basketball camp this June (19th - 22nd). It will be held in the Middle School gym instead of the high school due to continuing complications from the fire.
The camp will be led by newly hired head coach Lyndon Jason and assistant coaches Luke Litwiller, Justin Slager, and Andrew Litwiller. Current high school players will also be present to help out. Other information can be found on the attached flyer.
To register your boy(s), fill out the information form on the flyer and send in to the high school office. FORMS ARE DUE BY MAY 27TH but would appreciated before then.
