3rd grade honored Abraham Lincoln by using pennies for various STEM activities. We tested surface tension, probability and chemical reactions. Happy Birthday President Lincoln!





New Leveled Readers
Olympia North PTO purchased books for our first grade students to use in our classroom library and for reading activities. We can’t wait to break them in.


1st graders loved exploring winter STEM stations. They built arctic habitats with blocks, played ice shuffleboard, experimented the best way for penguins to slide down the ramp and illustrated favorite penguin books!





It was a big day yesterday in Pre-K! We celebrated our 100th Day of school!



This week in library, students learned about Dr. Temple Grandin. They learned different is not less; what makes each of us different is often our greatest asset.


Olympia West Elem School, 302 N School St, Minier, is open as a warming center. If your power is out and you need a warm, safe place and some food, you are welcome to come.

Tonight's boys basketball game has been rescheduled to Monday, Feb 4th including the mini cheer participation portion.

Are you ready for some football? Mrs. Loyer's 2nd graders are gearing up for The Big Game this weekend! They're working with scoreboards to determine the difference in each team's score, doing some popcorn math, and using informational texts to research and write about famous football legends!

Things are getting WILD in Mrs. Loyers class this week! It might be an arctic tundra outside, but 2nd grade is traveling to the rainforest to study the habitat’s animals, plants, and weather!



Due to the possibility of icy roadways, Olympia schools will dismiss early Wed., Jan. 23. OHS and OMS dismiss at noon; elementary schools dismiss at 12:30. All programs and activities are cancelled the rest of the day.

Due to hazardous conditions, all Olympia Schools are closed Tuesday, January 22, 2019.

Fifth graders were so engaged in their genius hour research, they didn’t want to quit! So they sat down in the hallway while waiting to trade classes and got back to work!! Way to go, 5th graders! #OlySpartanPride
