
The OHS track teams were back in action for the Sangamo Conference meet at Pleasant Plains tonight, and they had quite the fantastic night! On the guys' side, they produced 11 all-time bests and 3 season-bests. Additionally, despite being seeded to place in only 3 events, the Spartans exhibited the grit and determination of any coach's dream to tally up 7 all-conference performances!!(top-6 placer)
The all-time bests came from:
Kaleb Jacobs- 11.87 in the 100 m dash AND 52.90 (6th place) in the 400 m dash.
Chrystian Neal- 12.92 in the 100 m dash.
CJ Moore- 5'8" in high jump(3rd place) AND 53.3 400 split AND 2:06.75 in the 800 m run (6th place).
Chase Ragar- 53.7 in his 400 m split.
TJ Gellner- 53.7 in his 400 m split.
Kayden Thomas- 19.57 in 110 m hurdles AND 50.85 in the 300m hurdles.
Cohen Maness- 109'1" in the discus AND 45'1" in the shot put(4th place).
Season-best times came from:
Evan Petri- 12:26.78 in the 3200 m run.
Paul Yeary- 2:19.88 in the 800 m run.
Chrystian Neal, Nolan Thoennes, Brody Hish, and Zacharia Fry in their FS 4x200 relay (1:45.00).
Other All-Conference marks came from:
Chase Ragar- 40' 5" in the triple jump (3rd place).
TJ Gellner, Brendon Hardimon, Kaleb Jacobs, and Chase Ragar in the 4x100 relay (46.27).
Kaleb Jacobs, Chase Ragar, TJ Gellner, and CJ Moore in the 4x400 relay (3:35.78).

Lady Spartans Softball with a conference win at Athens, defeating the Warriors 11-2. Morgan Huffington with a 7 RBI performance going 3-4 including a 2-run home run. Kennedy Finchum picked up 3 hits including a double and an RBI. Lydia Rutledge, Khloe Chenoweth and Gabby Frye with 2 hits apiece. Lydia, Brooklyn Komnick and Eva Ortiz each with an RBI. Gabby Frye picked up the win allowing 2 runs on 6 hits, striking out seven. The Lady Spartans improve to 6-1 in the Sangamo and 14-7-1 overall.

The JV baseball game scheduled for today at Normal Community has been cancelled.

The varsity baseball game scheduled for today 5/6 at Athens has been postponed.

Varsity baseball loses on the road at Rochester 11-0 tonight. Walker(2H). Birky, Dabney and Koehler with a hit apiece. Spartans are on the road tomorrow at Athens for a 4:30 conference matchup.

The OHS boys' track team also competed at the Roger Washburn Invite on Friday night. While the overall strength of the team has been hindered by injuries of several of our athletes, the team continues to work hard and produce all-time best performances. The following athletes were able to accomplish that on Friday:
CJ Moore- 2:11.0 on his 800 m split AND 5:01.36 in the 1600 m run
Norman Bone- 20.40 in the 110 m hurdles AND 60.1 on his 400 m split
Kaleb Jacobs- 11.99 in the 100 m dash AND 54.20 in the 400 m dash(5th place)
Chase Ragar- 24.49 in the 200 m dash
Zacharia Fry- 62.2 on his 400 m split
Cohen Ellis- 59.3 on his 400 m split
Other highlights include:

Varsity Softball scores three runs in the bottom of the 7th inning, highlighted by a 2-RBI walk off single by Morgan Huffington to defeat Normal West 3-2 at Olympia. Finley Hoffman and Brooklyn Komnick started the 7th inning rally with singles. Gabby Frye followed with an RBI single before Morgan walked it off with her second hit of the game. Khloe Chenoweth also with two hits including a double. Sarah Horner with her second strong varsity start, pitching 4.2 innings allowing 2 runs on three hits. Gabby Frye picked up the win in relief allowing one hit with two strikeouts in the final 2.1 innings. The Lady Spartans improve to 12-7-1.
