We have STATE QUALIFIERS!! Tonight at the girls Sectionals in Metamora brought a lot of excitement as we celebrate our girls going to state: Hannah Cleveland -shot put 10.74m Kyra West- discus 33.71 4x800 team running a 10:06-Amanda Gonzalez, Amelia Kistner, Kaylie Dare and Emma Swartzendruber (alternates Sidney Beavers and Kamryn Rader) 4x400 team running a 4:10- Grace Whiteside, Melissa Bieber, Emma Swartzendruber and Charlee Durham (alternates Mallory Miller, Palmer Scheets and Aj Witham) A lot of PR’s were run and there were some broken hearts too! It’s been a great season and I’m so proud of this team. I’m excited for State at EIU next Friday and Saturday!

Varsity Softball improves to 25-1-1 with a 14-1 victory at Normal Community. Shelby Finchum and Danika Frazier with back-to-back home runs for the second time this season. Finchum went 5-5 with 2 doubles, a home run and 2 RBIs. Frazier with 3 hits including 2 home runs and 3 RBIs. Jordyn Turner had 3 hits with 3 RBIs. Lydia Rutledge with 3 hits, a double and 3 RBIs. Sarah Cross with 2 hits, a double and a RBI. Kat Springer and Rylee Robb each with a RBI as the Spartans pounded out 18 hits. Danika Frazier with her 20th win of the season, allowing one run and striking out eight.

Varsity baseball with a 6-1 win vs Lexington tonight. Dabney, Kindred 3 hits apiece. Olson (2H, HR), Hohulin, Gellner, Koehler, Kleinschmidt, Alford and Birky with a hit apiece. Dabney gets the win(7IP, 1 ER, 8K's). Spartans on the road tomorrow at Heyworth 4:30.

Today's Activities

Great team win-JV BB beating Pleasant Plains 12-10. Solid pitching from B Tackett& R Wilson w/the save. Huge day at plate for B Rikenberger&B Fairburn w/4 rbis a piece. Rinkenberger had 4 hits& Fairburn, N Walker, R Wilson each had 3. LaBelle had 2 RBI's.The team never gave up.

Varsity baseball loses at Pleasant Plains tonight 8-1. Hohulin, Brammeier, Kleinschmidt with a hit apiece. Spartans are at home tomorrow vs Lexington 4:30.

Varsity Softball Spartans are Sangamo conference champions with a 3-2 victory at Auburn. The game was resumed in the top of the 3rd inning after being suspended on April 18. The Spartans scored first in the top of the 4th on a Shelby Finchum triple and a Gabby Frye RBI single. Jordyn Turner led off the 5th inning with a bunt single and scored on Kat Springer's RBI single. After Auburn tied the game 2-2 in the bottom of the 6th, Jordyn Turner drew a leadoff walk in the top of the 7th, Kat Springer reached on an error which advanced Turner to 3rd. Finchum drove in Turner with a sacrifice fly to center field for the go-ahead and winning run. Turner finished with 2 hits, a walk and 2 runs scored. Finchum finished with a double, triple, RBI, and run scored. Danika Frazier allowed 2 runs on 5 hits with 9 strikeouts, improving to 19-0.

It took 18 days but Varsity baseball finally got a 6-3 conference win at Auburn tonight. Hohulin(two 2B), Kindred(HR, 3RBI), Brammeier, Alford 2 hits. Dabney, Kleinschmidt, Tackett, Koehler with a hit apiece. Alford the win, Gellner the save. At Pleasant Plains tomorrow 4:30.

Tough day for Jv&Freshman baseball today against U-High.The JV game was 3-0 until the 6th inn when the Spartans committed some timely errors to open the game up. N Walker gave up 3 hits&3 runs through 4 inn only 1 was earned. Hitting stars were R Wilson&N Walker with 1 a piece.

Looks like we are postponing the varsity baseball game at Auburn today to Monday May 6th at 4:30pm at Auburn.

The start time for the varsity baseball game at Auburn today has been moved back to 5:30pm. The JV baseball game at Auburn today has been cancelled.

2024 IHSA Bass Fishing Sectional Champions. Brantson Komnick and Nick Siebert took 1st place. Jackson Long and Clayton Grieder took 2nd place. Both teams qualified for the state championship. Thank you boat captains Ken Petersen and Marion Long and Head Coach Jon Wise.

Varsity baseball gets a 8-2 win vs Prairie Central on Senior Night. Kindred and Gellner with two hits apiece. Dabney, Koehler, Hohulin, Brammeier(HR), Buatte with a hit apiece. Brammeier gets the win and Rinkenberger gets a 5 inning save. Spartans at Auburn tomorrow 4:30.

Varsity baseball loses 5-4 at Mackinaw. Hohulin and Olson two hits apiece. Dabney takes the loss on the mound (6IP, 5ER, 3K's) Spartans are home for Senior Night tomorrow against Prairie Central 4:30.

Spartans dominate Ghosts! Girls Varsity Soccer sends our 3 seniors out with a blast, they get the win 5-1 vs IVC. Senior Kensie Kleinschmidt led the way with 2 goals. Senior Rachel Andris tallied one of her one, while Freshman Elyse Eimer added to her season total. Junior Ella Evans got on the score sheet with her first goal of the year with a blast from 15 out! Girls improve to 10-8-2 and will travel to St. Thomas More on Thursday for a 4:30 pm kick off.

The Olympia HS girls track team got 4th place at our Sangamo conference meet. Big things are happening: (Not pictured is the 4x1 relay bc they all disbursed after)
