This section is dedicated to the Online Learning Platform for the 2020-2021 school year.

Olympia partners with Edmentum Online Learning to offer fully online learning opportunities to families from K-12. The elementary program is called Calvert Learning, while the secondary program is called PLATO Learning. Please start with the following resources which apply to all online learning.

  1. Edmentum Parent FAQ

  2. Parent Guide: Support Your Child During Virtual Learning

On 07.21.2020 Edmentum provided a webinar to Olympia families to demonstrate the K-5 and 6-12 platforms.  You can watch a recording of the session via the following link:

Calvert Login Page | Calvert Getting Started Resources

Calvert has updated their resource website for students, parents, and caregivers.  It now contains great resources covering:

Program Overview | Suggested Daily Schedules | A Day in the Life Using Calvert Learning | Using Calvert on iPads | Submitting Assignments | Student Print Materials | Live Parent Orientation Registrations | The PLUS Framework

The following FAQ sheet is an updating resource that addresses the most common questions and situations that we have encountered while using Calvert Learning this fall.  Many issues are related directly to iPad use, though some items are universal to all devices.

Please refer to this section for the latest information on school events and travel. We will update our district through email, our school website, social media and app alerts of any changes in school events as soon as changes are made.

There will be no field trips until COVID restrictions are lifted.

We will adhere to IHSA and IDPH guidelines.  Please refer to 8 to 18 for updated activity schedules.

BACC students should sign into their chromebook and then switch to their district87 google account before accessing their BACC Google Classroom resources.

Connect Illinois Computer Equity Network

Illinois has launched a statewide network that will receive, refurbish and redistribute used computers for those in need. Over 1.1 million Illinois households lack at-home computer access and this initiative aims to help bridge the digital divide for equitable advances in remote learning, work from home, telemedicine, and other requirements of everyday life. Link

Who is this program for?

Illinois households without access to a working computer or internet device or those seeking to donate are encouraged to visit PC’s for People’s website to register and learn more about how they can request a computer.

To be eligible, residents must be below 200 percent of the poverty level or enrolled in income-based government assistance programs, such as free or reduced school lunch, Medicaid or SNAP.

How do I apply to receive a free computer?

Residents seeking a newly refurbished computer should take the following steps:

  1. Visit the PCs for People website here.

  2. Find a community distribution event near you – and click the location to register, or go to the registration page here.

  3. To apply, residents must produce proof of eligibility at the time of applying, including documentation of income-based government assistance. For more details please refer to eligibility guidelines here.

  4. Wait for your application to be reviewed. Once approved for pick up at an event, you can collect your new computer/device. Plan to have proof of eligibility on hand. All community distribution events will observe COVID-19 health guidelines.

What if I don’t see a community event near me?

Events will be scheduled throughout 2021, with at least one in every Illinois county. Don’t see an event near you just yet? Check back for more information or sign up to hear when an event is planned near you here.
